Starting your pool up forseason

When starting uppool forfirst time inseason, you'll need to drain any water inpool along with any antifreeze you used to keepequipment free of ice. Then you can refill it, addingchemicals necessary to continue keeping it clean forsummer.

Keeping your pool clean throughoutseason

Throughoutswimming season you should be brushingsides of your pool to loosen debris that collects there, you should be reversing your pumping system to help clean out any build up, and you should be vacuumingwater and skimmingsurface. This will keep your pool in tip top shape through outseason and it will make your poolenjoyable place to be near.

Preparing your pool for winter

As winter approaches, and after everyone reluctantly takes that one final swim, you need to prepare it to sit dormant forfew months that you will not be able to use it. Drainwater belowfreezing line, drainwater out ofplumbing, and fillingpump and pipes with antifreeze. Finally, cover it forwinter. And, if you getlot of snow where you live, be sure to mark out where your pool is in case snow builds up and hides your pool, which createspotential hazard that someone could fall in.

Working on your pool can belot of work, buttime and expense involved in maintaining it is much less thancost associated with repairing it if it does fall into disrepair. And,squeals of delight fromchildren as they show off to their friends will makefew moments of work inspring and autumn not seem so bad.
